Alumni spotlight – Gulnura Tukeshova

“Young Intellectuals Program” provided a tremendous opportunity to improve my research writing skills such as finding relevant resources, making analysis and manuscript editing. I believe that alumni of this program are young scholars who will contribute to the development of science in our country.

Dear friends, we continue sharing with you feedbacks from the participants of the “Young Intellectuals” program.

Today Gulnura Tukeshova shared her impressions of the program.

At the moment Gulnura works in the network of Bilimkana private schools and doing her masters at AUCA.

Within the framework of the program, Gulnura conducted a study on “The relationship between bullying and student’s academic performance”.

The problem of bullying is necessary for many reasons. First, the school is a place where students learn, communicate, acquire valuable skills, and develop their potential. Therefore, the task of the educational institution is to create a safe environment and monitor the safety of students to improve the learning process. Among the many aspects of the school environment, safety remains an important aspect of the learning process.

Her study examined: the possible causes of bullying in schools, the possible consequences of bullying on student achievement, and the role of the teacher when bullying becomes a problem in Kyrgyzstan. In our country, there are only a few studies on this topic. Thus, this study expanded on existing studies. The main question of this study is: How do young children face bullying in schools in Kyrgyzstan?

The study will be published very soon and you will be able to familiarize yourself with it.
